About
The Cape Fear Farm was a sand and gravel pit in a previous life. This tower was used in that operation. We think it's cool so we left it!
About the Farm
The Cape Fear Farm is a working livestock operation located on the banks of the Cape Fear River in North Carolina. In the 1940’s, this property was purchased by a mining company, and was transformed from farmland, to a sand and gravel mining operation. The mines are gone now, but the quarry lakes remain as reminder of this property’s past life. The lakes are not only beautiful, but they are an important part of our farm life. Not only are they used for watering livestock, but they are great for kayaks, swimming, and they make great backdrops for sunrise and sunset “farmscapes”.
Here at the Cape Fear Farm, cows are our main source of income, but oh how I love my sheep! And my goats. Well, and my dogs….OK, lets just say that I love all of the animals on the farm. Our Cape Fear FarmLife is a busy one, but we love it, and we think you will too!
Pasture Parables
Jesus used parables to teach lessons to his disciples, and I can testify that He still uses parables to speak to me today. I love to share these “Pasture Parables” with others. Feel free to look back at some previous posts, but make sure to check back weekly to find out how God is using His creation to help us grow in our faith.
About April
Anyone who knows me can tell you that I love to talk. This “gift of gab” eventually translated into writing, then writing, morphed into blogging. As you would expect, the things that I love are often the topics of my blog posts. Here are a few of the things in life that I love the most:
Jesus, my family, my animals (dogs, sheep, goats, and horses to name a few), remodeling and decorating, Southern cooking, life on the farm, and a multitude of other random things.
One thing is for sure, God uses each one of us, and I try to give Him all of the Glory! When He shares a life lesson with me. I, in turn, share it with all of you. I hope you enjoy our Cape Fear Farm life as much as we do.
